Fergal is a sweet little dragon who sometimes gets himself into trouble.
Join him as he learns about his emotions, how to make friends, and the impact of his behaviour on others.
There are now five stories to enjoy, each dealing with a different emotion or social situation.
Fergal is Fuming!
Fergal is Fuming! looks at anger, and how it can affect those around us. It talks about how it is a normal emotion which can get out of hand, and what we can do to stop getting so angry in the first place. Fergal is Fuming! was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and has been translated into over 20 other languages!
Fergal in a Fix!
In his second story, Fergal in a Fix!, Fergal is off to Dragon Camp, where he will meet lots of other dragons for the first time.
But…
How will he make sure they like him? How can he impress them? By being the best at everything!
When things don’t go the way he expected, Fergal has to decide - does he want to be the best, or does he want to be himself?
Fergal meets Fern
In Fergal Meets Fern, our little dragon faces his biggest challenge yet - a baby sister!
When mum and dad bring an egg home one day, everything changes. Fergal is no longer the centre of attention, and mum and dad are really busy!
When the egg hatches, he has to get used to another little dragon around the house, eating his toys and crying.
How will Fergal adapt?
Fergal and the Fib
In Fergal and the Fib, Fergal learns that he can get away with a lie, but also what it feels like when his lying starts to affect his friends.
When he smashes the bakery window with his ball, Fergal decides not to own up - but then his friend gets the blame.
Will he be brave enough to do what’s right? Can he make it up to his friends and the baker?
Fergal is Fretting
Fergal misses his Dragon Camp friends - it’s been ages since that summer.
So when Dad invites his best friend Elspeth to stay, Fergal is really excited!
But then the worries creep in!
What if she doesn’t like him any more? What if it’s not the same?
A story about social anxiety, fretting, and friendship.
Fergal around the world
Fergal has been translated into lots of other languages, in over twenty countries! It’s so lovely to see him getting out and about and reaching little readers all over the world.
I love seeing the way the stories have been translated - especially all the sound effects!
